Black Rainbow in Paris

Our friend Greg form Black Rainbow Paris came by the compound today. Check out the website and blog http://www.bkrw.com/blog?i=14&b=1388
Black Rainbow leads the European street wear scene with an online magazine, a retail location, design work, and many other facets of the market. Our new Fall collection will hit Black Rainbow in a week or two so if your thinking of taking a weekend get away, go hit up the store in Paris next weekend and grab the paradise lost tee!
Greg and I took a minute to chop it up, it was refreshing to listen to someone with great confidence and vision. Greg's disposition has led him to become a trailblazer in fashion. Greg choses his collections with instinct and taste, not the follow the hype type. Cool story,he actually found out about Cerbae while walking on Melrose, spotted a clean shirt and asked the guy what brand he was wearing, from there he took a look at the label and checked us up on the internet. The rest is history!

NIKE SB VIDEO PREMIER " NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH"

Went up to the Kodak theater in Hollywood last night for the Nike SB Video premier. After getting stuck in traffic forever that was only the beginning of the madness. The place was packed, it's crazy to think how far along skateboarding has come. I remember when video premiers used to be in the local skate shop. Its official, shit is major now.
The entrance was laced with all the past Nike SB's behind glass.

I still couldn't believe this was a Skateboard premier. The theater was jam packed and looked more like a major concert was taking place.

Saw some familiar faces from the Bay Marcel, Eddie, and Ando (FTC)Hunter and Kevin (Nike SB) opened up the showThe skating was really good, but wasn't to sure about the takes in between. I'll give them credit for trying to do something different, and different it truly was.
Popcorn After the movie the after party continued upstairs at a huge club called the Highlands. Just like the premier the party was packed. Nike really does know how to throw a party.

The young homey Jack Curtin (DGK, RBK, LRG...) was there. This kid lives the life. Every time I talk to him hes off to skate Europe, or Asia or some other crazy place. Getting paid to do what he loves. Not to say throwing yourself down twenty stairs or some crazy rail isn't hard work. His LRG / FTC stadium jacket was pretty rad too.
A Legend in the game Stevie Williams (DGK,RBK...)

Super nice guy slash Ill Photographer Ken Goto and friend along with Jacob(Shalom). to check out some of Kens photography go here www.kengotophoto.com On the way out I ran into Alex (ITF) and Brandon (Brand1 Design) These are a couple of the guys behind Can Goods. look out for the LA event in mid March. there going to go big with this one.

ADVANCED MATURE WORK

I finally got a quick sec to go up to the Redcat Gallery over at the Walt Disney Symphony Hall to check out some new works by the infamous Barry Mcgee. I haven't seen his work in some time so I was surprised to see the new stuff. Very different from what I remember growing up to in S.F. but over all just as fresh.

these geometric patterns and shapes were crazy. all paneled together in one to create an environmental effect.
the oldschool characters are still my favorite. the Justice league days.

And of course the overturned vehicle

Arianna loves T.V.

There was even this weird little loft. and upstairs was a head banging continuously against the wall. The installation was full of these primitive robots creating bizarre sounds. I could only imagine that this is what goes on in insane mans head. It was time to leave. meaning the environment was effective.
